Hello, I am Anna
Project lead. Parent. Expatriate living in Zürich, Switzerland.
Several years ago, I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Began
Moving to Switzerland wasn't part of our long-range plan. Like many international relocations, it started as a job opportunity and quickly grew into something far more significant.
The early months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, fresh expectations. Daily tasks felt more complicated than expected.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. Yet gradually, routines settled in. We uncovered places that worked for us, connected with other families, and started building something that felt stable.
Why I Created IzopelQuarnely
Most information online was either corporate-level relocation guidance or surface-level tourism material. What was missing was an honest, everyday family perspective.
This site aims to close that gap — practical guidance based on real life in Switzerland.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site is:
- Practical insights gained from living in Switzerland
- Centered on family life and everyday realities
- Updated when real changes occur
This site isn't:
- Not an official tourism authority resource
- A platform for sponsor-backed reviews
- Just another generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our time in Switzerland goes on, and so does the learning process. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll continue documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Zürich or anywhere in Switzerland, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Cheers,
Anna
